DAWSON DUEL OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Ypres, thursday 4th of May 2017
On Friday the fifth of May, the new attraction Dawson Duel in Bellewaerde opens to the public. After the technical inspection by an external examination company, the attraction is approved for opening. The visitors of Bellewaerde can now walk to a height of 25 metres to race against each other during an exciting race to the finish at ground level. The first Duelling Alpine Coaster in Europe is worth an investment of 4 million euros for the park.

Technical inspection and Tests
The last couple of weeks, the attraction is finalized and tested extensively. After a profound inspection by an external examination company, the green light is given to open the attraction to the public.

"After a long preparation time and an intensive construction phase, we can finally introduce this double European First to the public. A typical family attraction where young and old can experience fun and adventure together in a green environment," according to Stefaan Lemey, general manager of Bellewaerde.

Dawson Duel
With the arrivel of the new attraction Dawson Duel, Bellewaerde can present a double European First. For the first time in Europe, a Duelling Alpine Coaster is constructed. Furthermore the attraction isn't constructed on a hillside, but it is custom-made on stilts. This attraction consists of two parallel tracks which allow visitors to start a duel with each other during an exciting race to the finish at ground level. Before the visitors start the duel, a breath-taking walk awaits them. On a unique bridge, families will arrive between the tree tops in an impressive tower of 25 metres high. An investment of 4 million euro has been provided for the construction of the attraction.
