Versmold's St. Petri market, also known as Sünne Peider, attracts almost 100,000 visitors from near and far every year in February. But what is the secret of this success?


Sünne Peider presents a spectacular funfair with state-of-the-art rides that are often presented to the public here in Versmold for the very first time.

Over 200 rides, merry-go-rounds, food and drink stalls and many other stands await you again this year. One of the highlights is the opening ceremony at the town hall on Friday at 13:30, where not only attractive prizes are raffled off, but also numerous free tickets are distributed. The firework display on Saturday is also always worth a visit.


The success of the Versmold Sünne Peider has many fathers. Firstly, this one: the people of Versmold know how to party and they do it often and with pleasure. Their joie de vivre is infectious and attracts the public to the East Westphalian meat metropolis in droves every year. The shops are also open on Sundays.


But there is another secret to its success: Sünne Peider is one of the oldest fairs in Westphalia. And so it has long been a tradition in the region to end the winter with Sünne Peider and let the lively spring begin.


In short, Sünne Peider is simply fun - and has been for centuries. And we in Versmold do everything we can to make sure it stays that way in the future.
