A big festival with a long tradition

Seven days of pure fun with various rides and amusement rides, games of skill as well as festival beer, sausages, candy floss, almonds and everything that belongs to a festival for the whole family.

In addition to all the attractions in the amusement park, the famous grocer's market is well worth a visit. It is one of the largest in Germany and offers a wide variety of goods for sale.


Historical background

The Bad Wimpfen valley market is one of the oldest markets in Germany.

It was once a church festival from which the valley market developed. The oldest document from Wimpfen dates back to the year 965, in which Emperor Otto I confirms to the then Bishop of Worms the immunity he had already received from previous emperors and kings and grants this immunity specifically to the Worms churches in Ladenburg and Wimpfen. As a result, the church of St Peter in Wimpfen in the valley also came into possession of market rights; the streams of pilgrims to the patronal feast of St Peter and the associated trade over a thousand years ago became the visitor magnet "largest folk festival in the lowlands" of the present day.
