The Ismaning Folk Festival is a traditional Bavarian festival that fills the fairground at Hain with life and is known for its cosy, almost family-like atmosphere. It usually takes place in June and is a central meeting place for the citizens of the community as well as visitors from the Munich area. In contrast to the huge mass events in the state capital, Ismaning retains an authentic charm, with the local community and Bavarian cosiness at the forefront.


The heart of the festival is the large marquee, where Bavarian brass bands and modern party bands create a lively atmosphere. Young and old come together here to celebrate with a mug of festival beer and regional delicacies such as crispy chicken, grilled fish or Bavarian snack platters. The festively decorated tables and the colourful hustle and bustle of people in traditional costumes give the tent a very special, traditional touch.


Outside, the amusement park offers a selection of classic rides and stalls that complete the picture of a typical folk festival. From fast-paced bumper cars and nostalgic children's carousels to shooting galleries and lottery stands, there is something for every age group. The smell of roasted almonds, candy floss and freshly baked Auszognen wafts across the square, creating an inviting backdrop for family outings.


A special highlight of the programme is often the opening parade, in which local clubs, marching bands and magnificent brewery teams parade through the streets of the community. The senior citizens' afternoon and children's day are also integral parts of the festival, showing that the folk festival in Ismaning is a celebration for all generations. When the lights of the fairground rides shine brightly in the evening and the music from the tent echoes across the fairground, you can feel how deeply rooted this festival is in Upper Bavarian culture.
