In 1417, the Dürkheimer Wurstmarkt was held for the first time as a folk festival in Bad Dürkheim on the German Wine Route. Marquees are erected and supplemented by numerous fairground rides. With over 600,000 visitors, the Wurstmarkt is considered the largest wine festival in the world.
