Hänsel und Gretel

Hänsel und Gretel
Once upon a time there was a man and a woman who had so little to eat that they decided to send their children Hansel and Gretel into the forest to abandon them there. The children saw through the plan and scattered pebbles along the way to find their way home. When they arrived home again, the stepmother was very angry and decided to abandon the children in the forest again. As Hensel only had bread crumbs with him this time and these were eaten by the birds, they did not find their way home and came across a house made entirely of gingerbread and delicious treats. The witch who lived in this house lured the children inside and wanted to roast Hansel. When the witch fired up the oven, Gretel pushed the witch into the oven and she burned to death. Hansel and Gretel stuffed their pockets with gold and precious stones and made their way home to their beloved father.
