Once upon a time... PUSS IN BOOTS

Once upon a time there was a miller who had three sons. He owned a mill, a donkey and a cat. When the miller died, he bequeathed his property to his three sons. The third son got the cat and was very unhappy about it. To earn money he decided to make gloves out of the cat's fur. Then the tomcat spoke up for himself. He asked the miller's son to have some boots made for him so that he could show himself among the people. A short time later the cat wandered into the forest with his boots and a sack on his back. He walked like a human on two legs. On the bottom of the sack he had sprinkled grains. In the forest he laid out the sack and lured many partridges with the grains. When enough chickens had climbed into the sack, the cat tied it up. Then he set off for the king. The king loved partridges. But the chickens were so shy that hardly any hunter managed to shoot them. When the king saw the sack of chickens that the cat had brought with him, he was very happy. The cat said his master was a count. He had sent the chickens to the king. In gratitude, he had the King's sack filled with gold. The cat quickly took the sack back to the miller's son. He told him what he had done, and from then on he went into the forest every day to catch partridges. One day the cat heard that the king wanted to go to the lake with the princess. He told the miller's son to go to the lake to swim as well. When the son was in the water, the cat hid his clothes. Then came the king's carriage. The cat told the king that a thief had stolen the count's clothes. The king wanted to help, of course, and sent for his own clothes from the palace. The miller's son was also allowed to ride in the king's carriage. The cat ran ahead to talk to the workers in the fields and meadows. They were to tell the king that the land belonged to the count. Finally, the cat went to the magician. He was the real owner of the fields and meadows. The cat said that he had heard exciting things about the wizard. It was said that he could transform himself into any animal in the world. The cat wanted to see that with his own eyes. In fact, the magician could transform into an elephant and a lion. Finally, the cat asked the Wizard to become a mouse. After the transformation, he caught the mouse and ate it. The king was amazed at how many fields and meadows belonged to the count. At the end of the journey they arrived at the castle from the magician. The cat greeted them there and told them that this beautiful castle would belong to the count. The king was delighted with the huge castle. He promised the count his daughter, the princess. When the king died, the miller's son became king and Puss in Boots became first minister. Puss in Boots, a protector of the Fairy Forest. Well hidden right behind Little Red Riding Hood's house.
