According to the organisers, the Lullusfest is the oldest folk festival in Germany and the world. Its origins go back to the year 852, the name "Lullusfest" has existed since 1326, and the festival now attracts around 500,000 visitors a year.

The Helmond Zomerkermis takes place in the city centre and is slightly smaller than the Voorjaarskermis with around 40,000 visitors.
