The Kaltennordheim Marriage Market is a traditional folk festival in the Thuringian Rhön that has been held since 1563 and thus looks back on a history spanning over 460 years. Held annually over the Whitsun weekend, the event attracts tens of thousands

The history of the Lübeck Folk Festival goes back to 1848. At that time, however, the festival was still a marksmen's festival under the name "Allgemeine Scbheibenschießen". In 1871, the event was given its current name, "Volks- und Erinnerungsfest".
