Magdeburg is home to Germany's oldest folk festival, the Herbstmesse. It was first mentioned in 1010 and has had different names over the years. In the end it was simply the "Herbstmesse".

The funfair is located in the town centre and offers around 25 attractions with rides and treats for the whole family.
