The Papenburg August Market is a traditional folk festival that is one of the largest funfairs in the Emsland region and has a history dating back over 300 years. It is an integral part of the annual calendar of events in Papenburg.

The festival

Twice a year, the Erfurt Folk Festival takes place on the Domplatz. In April as the "Erfurter Altstattfrühling" and in October as the "Erfurter OKtoberfest". Both festivals are among the largest in Thuringia.
