For four days, the Barbarossa market will be the centre of attention in the Barbarossa town of Gelnhausen. This is one of the most important folk festivals in the entire region and attracts many visitors to our unique town every year.

In 1829, the first Corpus Christi fair was held in Sterkrade. The small, contemplative market (six to eight traders) has developed into one of the largest city centre and street fairs in Germany. The festival now attracts over 1 million visitors a year.

As always, the spring festival will take place on Viehmarktplatz in 2024. Visitors can look forward to rides such as bumper cars and carousels, test their skills at shooting and dart throwing or enjoy sweet and savoury treats.
