The Albanifest in Winterthur is the largest and oldest city festival in Winterthur and is even considered the largest annual old town festival in Europe. It is deeply rooted in the history of the city and has been celebrated since 1264.

The Alsfeld Whitsun Market is the largest folk festival in the region and takes place annually over Whitsun (from Friday to Whit Tuesday) on the forecourt of the Alsfeld Town Hall.

The traditional fairground festival at Whitsun, organised by the Thüringer Schaustellerverein e.V., takes place here every year. Hermann Brill Platz, better known as the stadium forecourt, is a central car park, but is also used as a camping site.

In the middle of the Ruhr area there is the longest indoor ski slope in the world with 640 meters. There is also a beer garden outside and an Alpinecoaster.

The Alpinecoaster is closed until mid-2025 due to expansion of the facility.

There has been an Alpine Coaster in Wisconsin Dells since 2025. The town is primarily known for its numerous water parks. The Alpine Coaster, which is over a kilometer long, was built by Wiegand.
