The history of the Lübeck Folk Festival goes back to 1848. At that time, however, the festival was still a marksmen's festival under the name "Allgemeine Scbheibenschießen". In 1871, the event was given its current name, "Volks- und Erinnerungsfest".

Around 80 showmen provide fun and entertainment. Of course, there is also a varied range of food and drinks on offer.
