The Papenburg August Market is a traditional folk festival that is one of the largest funfairs in the Emsland region and has a history dating back over 300 years. It is an integral part of the annual calendar of events in Papenburg.

The festival

For 17 days, the large fair takes place at the Valdespartera / Zaragoza fairgrounds. The Fofito Circus, the Valdespartera OKtoberfest and Espacio Zity, where concerts are held every evening, are also located on the grounds.
