The Whitsun funfair in Bergisch Gladbach is a traditional folk festival that attracts numerous visitors every year.

The funfair offers a colourful spectacle for the whole family with a variety of rides, games stalls and food and drink stands.

In 1829, the first Corpus Christi fair was held in Sterkrade. The small, contemplative market (six to eight traders) has developed into one of the largest city centre and street fairs in Germany. The festival now attracts over 1 million visitors a year.

The funfair takes place at the harbour on the ‘Waalkade’.
