The Papenburg August Market is a traditional folk festival that is one of the largest funfairs in the Emsland region and has a history dating back over 300 years. It is an integral part of the annual calendar of events in Papenburg.

The traditional Neusäßer Volksfest takes place every two years on the Volksfestplatz in Neusäß, diagonally across from the Kaufland supermarket.
